Vela Link is designed by Pauram. This Privacy Policy covers the Vela Link apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch (bundle ID app.velalink.app) and the Vela Link website. Pauram does not run a Vela message server. We cannot read your chats, walkie history, camera frames, or Glyph meanings from the internet because they are not sent to us.
Pauram does not collect app content or personal data from Vela Link for Pauram-operated servers. The App Privacy nutrition label for the app is Data Not Collected, subject to final verification against the signed release and every included SDK. We do not sell data. We do not use your content for advertising. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. NSPrivacyTracking is false. Data you deliberately send to a nearby person, Apple service, support mailbox, or website host is described below and is not a Pauram message cloud.
Identity keys, circle keys, chats, walkie transcripts, camera images you translate, phrasebook, house glossary, Glyph packs, and circle memory live in the app’s protected storage on this device. Face ID (or Touch ID / device passcode) can lock that vault. Screenshot and screen-recording on this phone hide Glyph meaning on screen. iOS cannot block screenshots; that is an Apple platform limit, not a Pauram guarantee that nobody can photograph the glass.
Vela Link discovers and talks to other Vela Link devices in the same room using Bluetooth, local Wi‑Fi / Multipeer, and optionally Ultra Wideband for tap-to-talk distance. Those radios carry sealed sessions between the phones you chose. They are not a cellular network. Last-four phone digits, if you type them, are advertised only on that nearby fabric so someone in the room can match you. There is no SMS login. A recipient controls their own device and may retain, copy, photograph, record, or disclose content you send or show; Pauram cannot control or erase their copy.
Speech: transcription uses Apple speech APIs with on-device recognition required. Audio is not sent to Pauram. Translation: the local phrasebook stays on this phone. Neural language packs come from Apple Translation on a real iPhone. Apple Translation does not run in the iOS Simulator. Pauram is not a speech-to-text or machine-translation substitute. Face ID / biometrics: used only to unlock Vela on this device, including Glyph meaning and circle memory. Optional iCloud vault: if you turn it on, an encrypted copy can sit in this Apple ID’s iCloud Drive. It opens only with this phone’s identity keys. Pauram cannot open it. Siri / App Intents, widgets, Live Activities, and Push to Talk use Apple system UI on this device. System Push to Talk is this phone’s walkie chrome. It does not place cellular radio calls.
Bluetooth and Local Network: find and talk to nearby Vela Link devices. Microphone: walkie, calls, voice notes, and Live Listen. Live Listen requires both Microphone and Speech Recognition permission and stops when you stop it or leave the listening flow. Audio may be heard by nearby participants when you deliberately transmit or play it. Speech Recognition: on-device transcripts. Camera: Glyph QR invites and on-device live, paused-frame, or photo translation of signs, menus, and notes. Recognized regions, language proposals, confidence, and translations stay on this phone. Photos: only images you pick, translated on this phone. Contacts: optional. Used so you can start a nearby chat from people already on this phone, or save someone you just met. Contacts are not uploaded to Pauram. Face ID: unlock the vault on this phone. Nearby Interaction: measure distance for tap-to-talk. Location: optional nearby-pin creation using this device’s location. The fix remains on the device unless you deliberately share the pin with a nearby peer. Notifications and background audio: optional call, walkie, Live Activity, and Push to Talk alerts and controls. You can change permissions at any time in Apple Settings; disabling one permission disables only features that require it.
The public Vela Link site is designed as a static site with no advertising pixels, analytics SDK, third-party web fonts, account system, or contact form. Like nearly every hosted site, its hosting provider may automatically process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser or device type, requested page, timestamp, and security logs to deliver and protect the site. Pauram does not use those logs to profile visitors or advertise to them. If you email support, you choose what to provide. The support mailbox and its service provider process your email address, message, attachments, and delivery metadata so Pauram can respond, prevent abuse, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. Never send conversations, transcripts, photos, identity keys, safety codes, or unnecessary sensitive information.
Optional reliability counters and “that’s not what I meant” learning remain in protected storage on this device. A support diagnostic report is created only when you request it and is never uploaded automatically. Review it before sharing. You can reset local counters, erase learning, delete chats, or erase the vault from Settings.
Pauram Intelligence runs on this device. It understands Vela features including Live Listen and Visual Intelligence and may use on-device signals Vela already has to explain a feature, return you to an active session, or tell you when a detected language needs an Apple pack. Live Listen can offer the exact missing pack or let you choose Download All; those downloads are handled by Apple Translation on this device. Its Control Center exposes model integrity, domain-pack trust, the local evidence allowlist, security counters, benchmark results, and private-learning export and deletion controls. It is not a medical or legal advisor. It is not cloud AI. Optional learning from “that’s not what I meant” stays in protected app storage on this phone unless you erase it. It is off unless you opt in.
Glyphs are a private circle language. They are not encryption and are not a cipher. Message sealing uses CryptoKit ChaCha20-Poly1305 on this device. That protects content between the phones in the room. It does not hide the fact that two nearby radios are talking.
Vela Link and its website are not directed at children under 13. Pauram does not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child sent information to Pauram through support or another channel should contact support@velalink.app and identify only what is necessary for Pauram to locate and delete it. Do not send additional information about the child.
You can erase local chats, local diagnostics, optional learning, and the local vault from Settings. Uninstalling the app deletes app data on that device, subject to Apple-managed device or iCloud backups. Turning off the optional iCloud vault does not itself delete copies Apple may retain under that Apple ID’s iCloud or backup settings; manage those copies through Apple. Nearby peers control what their own phones stored. Pauram cannot remote-wipe another person’s device. Support communications are retained only as reasonably needed to answer the request, protect the product and users, resolve disputes, and satisfy legal obligations. Hosting security logs are retained under the hosting provider’s settings and policies.
You can deny or revoke device permissions in Apple Settings, stop Live Listen at any time, turn off optional iCloud and learning features, delete local content in Vela Link, and uninstall the app. These choices may disable the related feature. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you deliberately sent to Pauram through support—or to exercise another privacy right available where you live—email support@velalink.app. Pauram may need to verify the request and may retain information where law permits or requires it. Because Pauram does not possess your on-device vault or a peer’s copy, it cannot produce or delete those records.
Pauram uses data minimization, Apple platform protections, protected local storage, authenticated nearby sessions, and encryption appropriate to the features described here. No device, radio, software, or storage system is perfectly secure. Keep your device and operating system updated, use the app lock, compare safety numbers, and report suspected security issues to support. Pauram will investigate and provide legally required notices if an incident affects information under its control.
If this policy changes, Pauram will update the effective date in the app and on the website. Material changes will be presented through the app, website, App Store update notes, or another legally appropriate notice before they take effect where required. Prior versions should be retained with release records.
