Review notes
Vela Link is designed by Pauram. It is nearby peer-to-peer translated chat for two Apple devices in the same room (Bluetooth + local Wi‑Fi). It is not a cellular phone, not SMS, and not a cloud messenger. How to demo 1. First launch demonstrates bilingual meaning, introduces Live Listen, Camera, Conversation Mode, Glyph, Pauram, and safety controls, then offers a language-pair pack or an immediate private-phrasebook start. 2. Install on two physical iPhones. The iOS Simulator cannot run Apple Translation neural packs or a real nearby mesh. 3. Allow Bluetooth, Local Network, Microphone, and Speech Recognition on both phones. 4. Open You → Legal → Two-phone test. Pair from Nearby / QR. 5. On either phone, tap the ear/waveform icon at the top to open Live Listen. The other speaker does not need Vela. Choose a target language, start listening, and speak; original and translated captions appear together. AirPods or another selected Bluetooth output can play completed translations privately, with route status and pause, repeat, and resume controls. Full-screen captions support adjustable type and right-to-left languages. Missing Apple language packs prompt for the exact pair, and Download All is available. 6. Send a chat. Each phone should show meaning in the reader’s language. Original words stay on that phone. 7. Hold-to-talk walkie. System Push to Talk is this phone’s walkie UI — it does not place a cellular radio call. 8. Camera: use live tracking over a printed sign, pause for a steadier read, then take a photo for detailed review. The likely language, original, translation, and confidence remain visible. Translation stays on device. 9. Glyph: invite the other phone, lock with Face ID, hold to reveal meaning. Glyphs are a private language, not encryption. Sealing is ChaCha20-Poly1305. 10. Open Pauram → Control Center to show model integrity, domain-pack trust, local evidence, security signals, benchmarks, and private-learning controls. 11. Walkie groups: switch across 5 groups on the nearby Bluetooth/Wi-Fi mesh (Squad, Rescue, Secure Ops, Base Camp, Emergency). These are app groups, not radio frequencies. 12. Encryption Lab: seal and open a hybrid X25519 + ML-KEM-1024 envelope (iOS 26 or later) using Apple CryptoKit. No FIPS or CNSA certification is claimed. 13. Emergency SOS: opens a call or text to the local emergency number with the device’s GPS fix. The app never reports an SOS as delivered and does not transmit over satellite itself. 14. AirBeam (Elite → Nearby): once both phones are connected, send a photo or file. It is encrypted with its own key, checked on arrival, and appears in the chat. Files go up to 100 MB. 15. Tour Guide (Elite → Translate): one phone taps Start tour and shows its QR, and the other scans it. When the guide taps Start speaking, each finished sentence appears on the listener’s phone in their language and can be read aloud. 16. AR captions (Elite → Translate): point the back camera at a person and start captions. Live Listen’s translation appears under their face, found on device with Vision. Nothing is recorded. 17. Out-of-range delivery: with three phones, a message to someone who has moved out of range is carried by a phone in between. It stays sealed to the recipient’s key, so the phone carrying it cannot read it. Account / login There is no account, no Sign in with Apple requirement, and no SMS login. Optional last-four digits are only advertised on the nearby fabric. Privacy App Privacy: Data Not Collected. Optional iCloud vault is the user’s Apple ID and opens only with this phone’s keys. Pauram cannot read chats. Live Listen safety The microphone meter confirms that audio is arriving. Low-confidence text remains visible for review, and safety review calls attention to numbers, dates, prices, addresses, names, negation, and medical details. Ephemeral sessions can erase captions when they end; Live Listen audio is not added to chat. Speaker tags are manual and are never presented as biometric identification. Please do not require an internet calling demo. That is not this product.
